In response to the shift in natural resources management philosophy from command and control to watershed based planning, Systech Water Resources, Inc. developed a decision support system called the Watershed Analysis Risk Management Framework (WARMF) under sponsorship from the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).
WARMF is the foundation for many of Systech Water Resources’s services. It was designed to support the watershed approach, with an intuitive, user-friendly interface, while providing a tool for rigorous analysis based on scientific principles. The numerical simulation component of WARMF integrates multiple well-accepted models and algorithms to simulate the complete watershed system of hydrologic, physical, chemical, and biological processes. The graphical user interface guides stakeholders to develop and evaluate water quality management alternatives for a river basin. Information is presented in a logical manner so they can understand their watershed and make informed decisions. With many unique analysis features, WARMF offers an unparalleled combination of usability and rigorous analysis for watershed planning and management.
WARMF is available in the public domain and has undergone several peer reviews by independent experts under EPA guidelines.
