Systech engineers attended the 2017 California Water and Environmental Modeling Forum (CWEMF) this week, and presented some preliminary results on the effects of climate change on groundwater availability in the San Joaquin River valley. The study, funded through the National Institute on Food and Agriculture (NIFA), will provide useful information to California central valley water users on the expected changes in the timing, quantity, and quality of water supply, and provide guidance on future compliance with the California Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) under different climate change scenarios. Results of the study are expected to be finalized in 2018.
